I returned to Kuwait beginning in 2000 working as a contractor.  My job was to replace senior Army Mech Infantry NCO's, as an Observer Controller.  Every 4 months a Mech or Armor Task Force would rotate from the US to Kuwait to protect it from Iraq, which continued to threaten the small state.  I would go over for about 30 days each rotation to support their force on force and live fire desert training.  I was on the ground when Operation Iraqi Liberation (later Iraqi Freedom) began.  With training completed, myself and a few OC's escorted 4th ID convoys from the Kuwait Port to the Iraq border.  Went home about two weeks later.
